Dining Experience Complemented By Floor To Ceiling Views Of Central Park
NEW YORK – November 23, 2014 – The Park Room, a Central Park South restaurant with wondrous, floor to ceiling views of Central Park will offer Thanksgiving and Christmas themed pre-fixed menus this holiday season, along with fall and winter seasonal menus. For the holidays, menus will provide a three course, pre-fixed meal featuring local and seasonal ingredients created by the restaurants newly named Executive Chef.
Located on Central Park South, between 5th and 6th Avenues, The Park Room is located on the second floor in Park Lane Hotel, strategically situated to provide diners above-ground views of Central Park, not visible from ground level.
“The holidays are an exciting and at times hectic for people, and The Park Room is excited to offer guests a relaxing, full dining experience,” said Andrew Carranza, Executive Chef, Park Lane Hotel. “Each menu was prepared to feature dishes that celebrate the season and provide guests with a lasting experience.”
The Thanksgiving menu incorporates seasonal ingredients such as apple, pumpkin, cranberries, and a variety of haricots. Turkey and ham carvings will be provided, among additional entrees and a variety of accompaniments and sweets. Reserved seating will be provided from 12pm to 2:30pm, and diners can enjoy the full Thanksgiving meal for $89 per person.
The Christmas menu will feature dishes with winter themed entrees and sides including crispy leek soup, wild mushroom stuffed organic chicken, roasted baby carrots, braised artichokes and plenty of chocolate and walnut inspired desserts. Reserved seating will be provided from 12pm to 2:30pm and can be enjoyed for $75 per person.
Specialty themed cocktails and libations have been created to accompany guest’s entrees and induce the holiday spirit.
The Park Room seasonal dining experience does not stop there. fall and winter menus have been created for The Park Room and the Bar & Lounge. The menus feature a variety of autumn and winter dishes and cocktails to accompany the New York City seasonal spirit. The Park Room is currently serving its Fall menu and will launch the Winter menu at the end of the month.

Hotel announces new Food & Beverage Team
NEW YORK – May 9, 2015 – Park Lane Hotel, a luxury 46-story hotel with panoramic views of Central Park and the New York City Skyline, today announced two new additions to the hotel staff. Lawrence Sloves will serve as Executive Chef of The Park Room Restaurant and Bryon Herman is joining as Director of Outlets.
Executive Chef Sloves is a graduate of New York Restaurant School and has worked in all aspects of the culinary field. His past positions include: Executive Chef at the Hanover Marriott; Executive Chef at Crowne Plaza Fairfield, New Jersey; and Executive Chef at Headquarters Plaza Hotel. Chef Sloves makes it a priority to remain on top of all current culinary trends and cutting-edge innovations, and will incorporate them into the new menu at The Park Room Restaurant. He is currently revamping the menu, with expectations to roll out the changes in the next month in time for the summer.
Herman joins the Park Lane Hotel family with more than 10 years of hospitality experience. As Director of Outlets, he will manage The Park Room restaurant, Harry’s, the hotel bar, banquets, room service and all the service staff in these outlets, maintaining high quality products and service levels.

Oldest U.S. Working Piano Player, Irving Fields, to Play His Noteworthy Music for Guests at Three Weekly Performances
NEW YORK – March 9, 2015 – Park Lane Hotel, a luxury 46-story hotel with panoramic views of Central Park and the New York City Skyline, today announced that 99-year-old world-renowned pianist Irving Fields will perform at The Park Room, the hotel’s restaurant overlooking Central Park.
Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm to 3:00pm, Fields – who is currently the oldest working U.S. piano player – will entertain guests dining at the Park Room with a collection of both his most noteworthy compositions as well as renditions of music from a large variety of other well-known artists. His performances will also be filmed for a new documentary currently in production, which chronicles his extremely successful career and the past year of his life as he will be turning 100-years-old on August 4th, 2015. Incidentally, Fields shares his birthday with President Barack Obama.

A native New Yorker, Irving Fields grew up on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. At the young age of eight, Fields attended his first piano lesson and has continued to play ever since. As a pianist, composer, arranger and bandleader, Fields is well known for releasing music that joined Latin, jazz and popular music, resulting in international hits such as “Miami Beach Rhumba” and “Managua Nicaragua.” In addition, his series of world fusion records that artfully combined Latin rhythms with Jewish music, Italian music, French music and Hawaiian music remain immortal 1950’s period pieces and influential precursors to today’s world fusion.
Fields has been and remains a fixture in the Manhattan hotel scene. His first New York City hotel job was at the Crest Room on East 56th Street. From there, his fame skyrocketed, landing him jobs at the Roxy Theatre, London Palladium, the Eddie Cantor Show in Las Vegas, Carnegie Hall in New York and Symphony Hall in Boston. Wanting to take a break from traveling and touring, Fields found himself back in New York playing at the Park Sheraton, where he remained for 16 years. Following the Park Sheraton, he performed at the Plaza Hotel for eight years, the Sheraton for three years, the Park Lane Hotel two years, the Intercontinental Hotel for about a year-and-a-half as well as the Hudson Valley Resort for four summers.
“I have played the piano for audiences around the world throughout my career, but to this day, playing in the city I grew up in remains very special to me,” stated Irving Fields. “I am thrilled to be back at the Park Lane Hotel during such a monumental time in my life.”

About Irving Fields
Trained in the prime years of Tin Pan Alley and immerses in the classic American popular music of the pre-World War II era, Irving Fields is simply one of the last of a truly special generation of who continues to perform to this day. Fields has played at some of NYC’s finest hotels and society rooms as well as composed and released music that remain influential precursors to today’s world fusion. Starting at age of 8, Fields later attended the prestigious Eastman School of Music. After finishing school, Irving took a job on a cruise ship, which brought him to Havana and San Juan and there his love for Latin music blossomed. With this new found love, Fields formed a trio and later an octet and found work at the Savoy Lounge in New York’s Plaza Hotel. After spending time in the Army, Irving’s career landed him gigs playing in venues such as the Roxy Theater, London Palladium and Carnegie Hall. After growing tired of touring, Fields returned back to his home in New York City, playing throughout the hotel scene for over 30 years.

Guests Traveling with Pets Will Receive Special Dog Amenities During Their Stay
NEW YORK – February 18, 2015 – Park Lane Hotel, a luxury 46-story hotel with panoramic views of Central Park and the New York City Skyline, has introduced its new dog friendly accommodations in conjunction with its current pet policy.
The hotel, which has always accommodated guests who are traveling with a pet, will now offer these guests special amenities as part of their pet policy. For an extra $100 nonrefundable fee when booking a room, guests will receive a dog bed, food and water bowls as well as dog treats from the hotel as a convenient way to help care for their dog during their visit.
“Guests traveling with their pets has become a growing trend here in New York City,” stated Tim Dowd, General Manager, Park Lane Hotel. “While we’ve always allowed customers to bring their pets, we are thrilled to offer these special amenities to make the trip with their dogs much more convenient and enjoyable.”
As part of the Park Lane Hotel’s pet policy, well-behaved pets that weigh 25 pounds or less are welcome in all guest rooms. Pets are not allowed to be left unattended in guest rooms at any time.

New Food Market Located in Hotel Lobby Offers Guests Quick and Easy Snack and Meal Options

Open seven days a week, from 6:30am to 6:00pm, Café on the Green offers guests a variety of freshly baked breakfast pastries, gourmet sandwiches, salads, soup, artisan coffee and other treats for breakfast and lunch. The coffee, selected pastries and treats are locally sourced from suppliers including: Lavazza, Balthazar and Mast Brothers Chocolate Makers.
