Through a winding, leafy roadway atop a hill sits the elegant Flavours Restaurant situated at the exquisite Devon Valley Hotel in the Stellenbosch valley. Sturdy white framed doors and windows encloses the wooden-floored dining area with numerous square tables draped in crisp white table cloths, sparkling crockery, sterling cutlery and high-back dark wooden dining chairs.

Once seated and asked for your choice of still or sparkling water, scrumptious, warm homemade rolls will be served for you to enjoy while you decide on your dishes.

As a starter, their fresh unique Red Salad consists of everything red; red salad leaves, beetroot, strawberries and more drizzled with a luscious raspberry vinaigrette. A light, yet satisfying starter. You may also try their Asparagus and Proscuittto, served with blackened red pimento. Both starters have hints of sweet and savoury, which set the tone for your upcoming dishes.

Their Rack of Karoo Lamb with basil-pecan crust served with glazed naartjies is a top menu item. The sweet and acidic note of naartjies neutralizes the taste buds in between mouthfuls, so each new bite is like a new experience. Another great option is the Saffron Truffled Line Fish served with Arborio risotto and saffron butter sauce. The fresh fish and the texture of the risotto complement each other well. Finish off your meal with a crisp sweet, mint ice-cream filled with crunchy chunks of dark chocolate.

Vast collection of some of the Stellenbosch Vallley wines are on offer. Try their Ghost Tree - Three Colours White house wine which is a blend of Chenin Blanc, Colombard, and a hint of Hanepoot; perfect for any seafood dish. The SylvanVale Pinotage Reserve 2005 is full-bodied with sweet cherry hints, this pairs well with any meat dish.

Finish off your evening in the comfortable Cedarwood Lounge & Bar. Should you attend in the Summer season you can enjoy live music and wood-fired pizzas in the luscious courtyard. Weddings, small parties and conference facilities are also available.
The Devon Valley Hotel Awarded 2014 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence

The Devon Valley Hotel has once again received the TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence award.
The accolade, which honours hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor, and is extended to qualifying businesses worldwide. Only the top-performing 10 percent of businesses listed on TripAdvisor receive this prestigious award.

To qualify for a Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers on TripAdvisor, and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.

Stellenbosch To Be 'Uncovered' Through International Blogger Campaign

Stellenbosch Wine Routes has embarked on a dynamic wine tourism drive connecting travelers from across the globe with the launch of an experiential #Stellenblog Blogger Campaign
The campaign, which covers the greater Stellenbosch region, aims to reaffirm Stellenbosch as the wine tourism capital of South Africa and attract more visitor to the region.

The campaign kicks off with a launch event to welcome the Twitterati. Various wine farms, guesthouses and restaurants will strut their stuff to empress the visitors. The Devon Valley Hotel will also be represented at this glittering event and will be pairing Deboned Chermoula Lamb Shank in Wong Tong Pastry on Tomato Chutney with our SylvanVale Pinotage Reserve 2006. One of the gems of the stylish four month makeover that literally raised the roof of South Africa’s leading home of sparkling wine, this dazzling new restaurant provides an uplifting setting for a relaxed escape in the heart of picturesque Devon Valley.

With their natural affinity to bubbly, oysters and sushi are always on the lunch menu. Other dishes include Thai beef salad, a winning combination with J.C.
